Going into Monday both Miami & Tampa were hanging their heads. Miami just got swept at home by Atl and Tampa lost 6 in a row. Both were hoping to turn things around. The Marlins won both games on Mon. & Tues. Now the Marlins are feeling pretty good about themselves and with the Braves losing, last wkend seems like a month ago. The Rays are feeling a little down once again, but thats fine, they have Price pitching Wednesday night, he'll straighten out this ship.
Last night after 1 inning the Rays are up 3-1. They must be thinking "ok we got this". Nope, that did not happen, they lost 5-4. Now with Atl losing again last night, the Marlins are a half a game back. The Rays need a time out.
Just for a minute, forget ERAs, WHIPs, RBIs, and all kind of STATS. Who do you think wants to wake up today and take the field at 4:10 and play baseball? Now we all played sports before, let it be H.S. or College, and we know that the game is much more then just talent. Sometimes the team with the most heart or drive, want, desire, that's the team that wins.
I think we're looking at a TEAM that came together after getting swept at home. That TEAM will be focused today and play some good baseball. Can we say the same about Tampa?
Stats: I know Jacob Turner had 11 starts last year on the road, he was 0-6. Blah blah blah. Yes, of those 11 he should of loss 4. The other 7 games weren't that bad. 1 game they lost 5-4 , he gave up (2er). Then there were 2 games Miami won he gave up (1er) & (2er), he got the NDs. Four games he got no run support, 3-1, 2-1, 2-0, & 2-1.
I'm taking the TEAM that wants to play today!!!
Miami +147
Not much time for this one. I'm going with the D'Backs. Arroyo #s on the road are not that bad, with a 3.35era. And with Nicasio being a little to inconsistent this year, why not go with the HOT team. D'Backs with the SWEEP??? YES!!! I hope.
D'Backs +120
Good Luck Guys!!!
