Wanted to get that one in before the start also taking:
Oakland A's (-160)
The Rangers have won both games in the series off the A's bullpen. Last night Gregerson was one out away before giving up a tying double and winning single. I look for Gray 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA to continue his dominance so far against a Rangers lineup with no Choo or Beltre. In his young career Gray is 5-1 with 2.01 ERA over 8 starts in O.co. Gray has never faced Texas which should also be to his advantage being that the lineup hasn't seen him before. Martin Perez has also been lights out this year. The Rangers have won all 4 of his starts and he is 3-0 with a 1.86 ERA. In his only road start he gave up 4 ER over 6.1 IP to Boston. He has had some trouble against Oakland in 5 career stats he is 2-3 with a 5.79 ERA. He did win his last start in O.co going 7 innings giving up only 1 ER. Oakland is 3-1 against lefties this year. I think Gray will out-duel Perez and the weakened Rangers lineup to avoid the sweep at home where they've won at least 50 games in each of the past 2 seasons. Gray shines and no bullpen meltdown today the A's win the day game at home.
San Francisco Giants (+105)
The Giants wasted a game where Madison Bumgarner went the distance only giving up 2 in a 2-1 loss last night. The Giants have lost 5 of the last 6 games overall. Also 11 of the Giants last 12 games have been decided by one run.The Giants have now faced a lefty 6 of their last 7 games losing to 4 of them. They might be happy to see a righty in Chatwood out there today. Although Chatwood has fared well against them in the past, 3-2 in 7 games (6 starts) with a 2.73 ERA, they did get him for 4 ER over 6 IP 10 days ago. Matt Cain has gone 17-8 with a 3.15 ERA against Colorado (6-3 4.16 ERA at Coors) in his career and lost a 1-0 game where he went 7 IP giving up 4 H 1 ER 3 BB with 8 K's against them 11 days ago. He then followed that up with an almost identical 7 IP 4 H 0 ER 2 BB 8 K performance in a 2-1 Giants loss. No Gonzalez for Colorado and no Posey for SF in the lineups today. Even though the Rockies are 8-3 at home and have won 5 of 6 there I think Cain will continue his recent run of great pitching and the Giants bats get a couple off Chatwood. The Giants avoid the sweep in Colorado.
