Hey there Pregamers!
What a weird night last night. I finished 4-3 on the day for +1.04 units, but it was close to being a much better day. Salty single handedly ruined what could have/should have been a Fernandez/Miami win. Up 3-0 then makes 2 bonehead errors... next thing you know Werth hits a 3 run home run to tie the game, and it went downhill from there. Somehow the White Sox use their entire bullpen... putting in their last guy in the 11th (Their starter went 6 innings). I'm not sure how that happens. They end up having to throw out a utility infielder later, and of course he gives up the winning runs. Frustrating. A winning day though regardless of all that. I will take it! Now sitting at 39-30 on the season for +7.75 units. Going with 4 plays today, including my first 2 totals plays (not big on totals, but will throw them in here and there). CRAZY day today so only very limited notes. If I can I will come back to add more later. Sorry! Go get 'em Pregamers!
SF -120 : Bumgarner has always pitched very well against the Dodgers, and for the most part Ryu has done the same against the Giants. Ryu was lit up his last start against SF, and while I see him giving up some runs today I don't think it will be to the extent it was last time out vs them. Both teams have been struggling against lefties, but the Giants definitely have the greater success against Ryu (.320 BAA). Should be a close game, but see SF pulling it out.
SD -129 : Padres are playing some good ball right now while Colorado continues to struggle away from Coors Field. Morales on the mound for Rockies and that hasn't been a good thing here in the early season. He has given up 9 runs in 11.2 innings so far. SD doesn't hit LHP very well, but Morales should help that some. Meanwhile Kennedy goes for SD. He looked good in his first start, but got touched up some last time out against Det (but struck out 7). He has fared very well against Colorado away from Coors Field. Give me the improving SD Padres!
Atl/Phi under 7 even : This will be an unpopular pick, but the line opened at 8 at many places, and has continued to drop. I wish I had gotten it at 7.5, but did not. On paper between these 2 teams everything points to an easy over, but nothing is ever as easy as it seems. Wood has been hit by Philadelphia in the past, and AJ by Atlanta. Both teams are hitting the ball well (don't count yesterday with 2 studs throwing complete games). Should be easy over. I'm going to go the other way here. Looking for Wood to do very well and AJ to hold his own after 2 very sloppy starts. Wind is blowing in at CBP which should help some. Give me the under 7 here!
Sea/Tex over 9 -105 : Another situation much like the Atlanta/Philly game to me. Neither team hitting very well or scoring many runs at all. Two pitchers that are capable of throwing good games against a struggling offense. A total of 18 runs scored in the first 3 games of the series. Slight under here, right? I'll go the other way. Both pitchers are capable of giving up the long ball and tend to pitch to contact. Slight breeze in at Rangers Ballpark today, but that shouldn't make a huge difference in that ballpark. Both teams will be chomping at the bit to face these pitchers after what they saw yesterday. Give me the over 9 here.
