Bruno,
I hope you're well kind Sir.....thanks for the "shout out"....I just love "fertile" ground (managed & utilized consistently, respectfully, & efficiently , it can easily represent THE most important benefit/element of the Pregame offering. I've already gone on record MANY times, underscoring my perspective that, if utilized appropriately and nurtured, the OBJECTIVE and HEALTHY exchange of opinions, statistics, perspectives, etc will help maximize the positive impact of such a unique & powerful resource. In no way would it be a "stretch" to classify Forums as one of PG's most indispensable resources. Managed properly, it can become even more of a critical resource than it already is....growing, strengthening and substantiating its benefits each day, further solidifying its solid overall value and "reason for being," consistently substantiating its position as an INVALUABLE resource... :o)
Now, while I will be the first person to GUSH about important technological advances, and how it has left an indelible footprint, impacting (among myriad things) true communication in society and across the globe. I will also be the first and LOUDEST voice advising anyone who will listen, that text messaging, e-mail, Twitter, FB, & other social media tools have also become, in some respects, the biggest CURSE!!!....& that is a FACT!! B, I'm sure you've experienced important "moments" in your life when, regardless of your true sentiments, opinions, intentions, etc, when you (on at least a handful of occasions) were legitimately misunderstood, mis-quoted, misconstrued, etc, yes? It's extremely important to underscore the fact that that will always be the case because communicating via the plethora of "New Age" research and communication tools is fraught with "problems/challenges" (oftentimes, those challenges are presented PRIOR prior to communicating anything. In significant ways, the specter of "evil" is (& always will be!!!) alive & well!!! Each of us should always embrace any/all of our responsibilities....it will ultimately be incumbent upon each of us to remain vigilant, educating ourselves to become as proficient as we can be to ensure our words genuinely reflect (100%) what we truly & honestly MEAN!!!...& that is ULTRA-important for sure!!!...... (how we communicate things--words AND tenor--), what we truly mean, etc, etc is of utmost importance.
Now, responding directly to your post (reply):
My comments/perspectives were, in NO WAY, directed towards you specifically, or towards ANYONE (PG &/or non-PG members) for that matter. Moreover, the "tenor" of my post (which is inextricably tied to my true INTENTIONS) was honest, playful, and somewhat ironic in some respects). My post/message was dripping with sarcasm, levity, self-deprecating humor, etc..LMAO... :o) Unfortunately, the reality is not everyone has grasped 100% of my true meaning and intentions...& I will, of course, understand and respect that.
Now, regarding the game itself......I've continued to develop, refine and maintain a well-developed and effective personal approach towards evaluating and ultimately developing an important opinion or perspective. In my "world" (more specifically, in my "baseball world"), if I happen to wager on a particular team, and that team comes up short (it does not matter to me when the runs were scored, how they were scored, etc), it remains my custom to gracefully accept the loss and move on to the next money-making opportunity. Moreover, if the team happens to be shut out in the process, I may/may not classify the loss as "not being close" (close to the outcome I personally forecasted). In this case, I forecasted a straight-up win (Pirates). Sure, the game was quite competitive and, if my memory happens to be spot-on, 3/4 runs were scored after the 6th inning. That said, it would be "missing the point" if you (and significantly more people) believe/feel what I wrote represents some kind of indictment against you, your selection, and/or the selection made by others for that matter. Striking some kind of negative chord within you and/or others could not be any further away from my true & honest intentions. As I stated earlier, my intention was not to, in any way, throw you under the bus because you backed the Pirates!! SHOOT....I ALSO picked the Pirates!!! LMAO.... B, please understand that my wager on Pittsburgh was not (not even 1%!!!) predicated on YOUR or ANYONE'S play on the Pirates!!! My personal play on the Pirates on Hump Day was inextricably tied to my personal research, analysis, and overall experience and intellect. Murphy's Law has ALWAYS been alive & well in my world...that's for sure!!! :o) It just so happens that during the time I was reading, analyzing, etc, I decided to peruse some of the PG resources, & just happened to not only access your post in the forums, but I also happened to access information on other Pirates' supporters as well....all of who seemed to be adamant that Pitt was CLEARLY the right side.
GOOD LORD!!!!! I am beyond DISGUSTED of myself.....SHEESH!!! I'm sending you War & Peace for cryin' out loud!!! LMAO.... So sorry to literally overwhelm you and/or others with the freakin' NOVEL I just authored!!! :o) Despite this ridiculously long message, I hope my TRUE INTENTIONS (to illuminate several important things and ensure you (& others) captured my TRUE & HONEST sentiments related to the Pitt/Cincy tilt this afternoon. I apologize for sending you (& I'm sure a host of others) down the wrong path. Going forward, I will always do my best to ensure that my true opinions, feelings, perspectives, etc are FULLY grasped and understood. I hope all of this has done SOME good....yes?!?! :o)
Finally, moving forward I may "get into" posting more of my personal plays. I have, on numerous occasions, shared my plays, perspectives, analyses, etc for North America's top three sports!!! I've never "into" broadcasting any of my personal selections on a given day. However, as I mentioned, the next time I do share one of my plays, I will try to be at least a bit more conspicuous... :o)
My sincerest apologies to you B, & anyone else who has spent time reading my "War & Peace"-type diatribe... :o) Sorry...sometimes I tend to get carried away.... :o)
Appreciate the time B....CARPE DIEM my man....!!!! :o)
