The Astros got a beat down last night in Colorado and history indicates they have a tough time recovering.  Houston is 0-21 since the end of last April at night when they are off a night loss in which they allowed at least six runs and their starter had a WHIP of at least 1.20.  The SDQL text is:

team=Astros and NGT and po:runs>=6 and p:NGT and p:L and p:SWHIP>=1.2 and 20110428<=date

Note that the 'Stros have lost these 21 games by an average of 3.8 runs and they are 0-5 in this spot this season.  Bud Norris has three of the starts in the 21 games and in those three Houston lost by scores of 11-3, 8-6 and 9-6.  In the three games he allowed 6, 5 and 7 runs respectively and did not make it to the sixth inning in any of those starts.  Consider the Rockies.

The Tigers are 11-0 since May 30, 2010 when Max Scherzer starts after giving up 2 or more home runs.  The SDQL text is:

starter=Max Scherzer and s:SHRA>=2 and 20100530<=date

Detroit won every one of the eleven games by multiple runs and averaged 4.8 runs better than their opponent.

I wouldn't want to play against Scherzer when he might be in the zone.

The SDQL Query of the Day for 5/31/2012, which is now 0-22, is active again 6/1/2012 vs the Reds.  Consider Cincinnati.
