Plunking Bryce Harper on purpose was bush. Don't know what all the so-called unwritten rules in baseball are, but never thought hitting a batter because he's a rookie was one of them.
Totally agree Stephen.. I played/pitched in college and some pro ball and I've never heard of hitting someone for this reason.. Throw behind them or over their head if you want to send a message like this, but dont hit them.. Just shows how big of a stage Harper is on already..

I agree Griff and it's not like he went for the head and what did Washington do when Hamels came up ? They hit him and all messages were delivered and now they can play ball.The only bad part is Hamels admitted it to the press so he will probably get a small suspension out of it.

heard on sports talk radio that he was giving Harper th eplunk for prior grandstanding in minor league ball, blew a kiss to a pitcher after going deep. just saying what I heard.
