ST. LOUIS AT MIAMI
For the first time in his career Garcia will be pitching on three days rest. He only threw 77 pitches in his last outing so the Cardinals feel comfortable with it. But Garcia hasn't exactly been lighting it up lately anyway. He's given up 17 earned runs in his last 6 outings and he only lasts 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 innings a game. He allowed 4 runs in 6.1 innings against Miami earlier this month. Rea makes his first start for the Marlins and is 0-2 with a 6.00 era in three career starts against the Cardinals. I think once more we're going to have plenty of runs put up tonight. Then we have home plate umpire Bill Welke. He is 12-4 to the over this year.
