Phillies @ Mets -- New York and Philadelphia played a high-scoring series in Philadelphia last week with all four games going Over the total. Jon Niese and Aaron Harang were the starters in a 9-5 Mets win in Philadelphia. Things may change here in New York as the Mets are only hitting .234 at home this season. Even though Harang has allowed 13 runs and 18 hits in his last three starts, he is expected to pitch better in this game against the Mets. I lean Under 8 (-115) in this game on Tuesday night.
Nationals @ Cardinals -- Marco Gonzales gets the call for the Cardinals on Tuesday night. The southpaw has allowed 3 runs or more in four of his last seven triple-A starts while lasting just six innings or more twice. Joe Ross gets the start for Washington. He’s approaching an unknown innings limit, and he is 5-5 with a 3.24 ERA in eleven Major League starts. With the total now sitting at 7.5, I’ll lean to the Under (-105).
White Sox @ Twins -- Chris Sale is putting together another great season for the Chicago White Sox. However, Sale has lost three straight starts against Minnesota while giving up 19 runs and 22 hits in those games. Minnesota’s Tyler Duffey is in good current form overall despite giving up a lot of hits. The righty has allowed 17 hits in his last two outings. But with Sale’s struggles against Minnesota, I have to back the Twins (+150) in this game, especially as a home underdog.
Pirates @ Brewers -- Milwaukee’s Jimmy Nelson is 3-1 with a 2.22 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in four career starts against the Pirates. Overall, Nelson is 4-3 with a 3.43 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 12 home starts this season. Pittsburgh’s Gerrit Cole has a 2.13 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 13 road starts this season. Cole’s only start against Milwaukee came back in April; he held the Brewers to 2 runs and five hits in six innings of work. I like Under 7.5 (+100) in this game.
