Got a little scrunched there.....
DETROIT TIGERS (-120) AND
OVER 8 TORONTO BLUE JAYS @ DETROIT TIGERS (-110)
Well, again we told you about the current over run the Tigers are on and once again the Tigers responded with another casher on the over. Yesterday, these two teams combined for 14 runs, in yet another over play for their 14th straight contest. That's right, they are playing at a 14-0 clip for the Over in their L14 overall. And again, these two teams should pound this over again today, as Toronto comes into this one having scored 23 runs in their L3 games while the Tigers are again averaging over 5 R per game in their current 14-game run. Price is on the mound for Detroit in this one, which is always a good thing for them, considering they are a perfect 8-0 in the lefty's L8 starts on the mound when he is pitching on a complete 5 days of rest. Price also happens to be the top money pitcher this season, with a nearly +$900 profit margin when he starts. Add to that, the Tigers have dominated day games in 2015, hitting for a combined team average over .300 in matinee games and scoring nearly 200 runs. Price has dominated the Jays in his L8 starts against them, compiling a 6-0 record with a 3.07 ERA in those games. He also has gone 3-1 in his L6 starts overall and has an ERA in the sub-2's in his last eight. Dickey is 0-5 with 5.79 ERA in his 7 starts away from home this season. Roll with the DETROIT TIGERS and the OVER in today's meeting......
UNDER 8.5 BALTIMORE ORIOLES @ CHICAGO WHITE SOX (-120) AND
BALTIMORE ORIOLES (+105)
Simply put, the Orioles be struggling the L2 days. This juggernaut offense has gone silent, scoring 0 R in each of their L2 games and 11 runs in their L5 overall. Samardzija is on the hill for the Sox and is coming in off a commanding 7 innings of shutout ball against the Tigers his last time out, before getting roughed up for 4 in the 8th. However, the last time he faced the Orioles he was rocked and not a single person was in the ballpark to see it. Samardzija was on the hill in the game played in front of an empty stadium due to the Baltimore riots, and was shelled for 8 R and 10 H in only 5 innings of work. Tillman on the other hand is fresh off 7 scoreless innings himself, in which he allowed 4 R and struck out 6 against the Indians. He hasn't been that great lately as he carries a 5+ ERA in his L5 starts, but he has also managed to go 4-0 in that stretch. The O's have been even better in support of him lately, cashing in for a perfect 5-0 mark in his L5 starts and providing him with an average of 13.67 RPG in that span. Tillman has dominated the White Sox recently, posting a 2-0 mark and allowing a mere run in 15 IP with 14 K. Baltimore has dropped 4-of-their-L5 overall, but they had posted a dominating 17-6 run prior to that. The Orioles will definitely get on the board at the very least here today, as they have not been shut out in 3 straight games since way back in 1957. Run with the BALTIMORE ORIOLES and the UNDER in today's showdown.......
NEW YORK YANKEES (-160)
The Rays are mired in a pretty dreadful skid right now, having lost 6 straight heading into today and putting up a 2-10 ML mark over their L12. They won't have it easy today as they get a Yankees squad that has been absolutely red hot at home as of late. New York is 13-4 in their L17 games at home, while averaging nearly over 7 RPG and batting a combined .319 in those contests held in the Bronx. The offense is indeed clicking right now too, as evidenced by their 2 comebacks yesterday before McCann launched a game-winning 3-R shot in the 12th, bringing them into sole position of 1st place in the AL EAST this late in the season for the first time since winning the division in 2012. Expect the Yankees to be pumped for this one and should find a way to get to Karns early, as this will be the 4th time he's faced them this season. Pineda is looking to continue off his last start and he has pitched much better at home this season, going 4-2 with a 3.67 ERA over 8 starts. He has been better in day games however, holding a 3-1 record with a 2.45 ERA in those 5 outings. The Yankees have won 12 of the L19 meetings agains the Rays. They also beat the Rays on the 4th of July back in 2012, kicking off their current 3-game winning streak on the holiday. Take the NEW YORK YANKEES to win at home.....
KANSAS CITY ROYALS (-160)
Hard to go with the Royals here as they snapped a 4-game losing streak with yesterday's 3-2 come-from-behind win against the Twins. But that was a lone bright spot in a stretch that has seen them score 9 total runs and be held scoreless twice in their L5 overall. Kansas City has won 5-of-the-L6 against the Twins and will be facing off against Pelfrey, who carries an 8.85 ERA over his L3 starts. That includes his last outing at Cincinnati in which he was torched for 8 ER and 9 H in only 2 innings of work. Take the KANSAS CITY ROYALS here.....
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS RUN LINE -1.5 (-105)
This could be another one of those 1-run games that burn us, but the Cardinals should be fired up and ready to go this afternoon. San Diego has been struggling lately, but they have now won 2 straight overall. However, they have posted a 4-6 ML record in their L10 overall with all 6 of their losses coming by 2 runs or more. In fact, each of the L8 losses by the Padres have come by 2 runs or more, and if going back further, when San Diego has lost, it as been by 2 runs, going 1-10 in their L11 losses against the RL, and 16 of their L20 losses have come by the same difference. Martinez is in the midst of a very impressive season, with a 9-3 mark and 2.80 ERA. The young stud has put together 8 consecutive quality starts and most likely will do it again today against a Padres offense that has totaled 2 measly runs over their L3 games overall. The Cardinals offense hasn't been much better lately though as they have now scored exactly 1 R in 3 straight games. St. Louis though is the home team here though and that weighs heavy when Despaigne is on the mound as this kid is Jekyll and Hyde when pitching at home and on the road the L2 seasons. The youngster has a 2.96 ERA on his home turf, but carries a hefty 5.47 ERA on the road in that span. The Cardinals seem to come to play on Independence Day as well, winning at a 9-3 clip in the L12 seasons on the holiday. Go with the ST. LOUIS CARDINALS on the RUN LINE at home today.......
