Well I dropped the ball with my Game 1 pick. Should have went with the Beast on the mound, but it just looked to good to be true at that price. Sh*t happens, all you can do is move on and try to learn from it.
Game 2: Lets start with SF. They looked good last night. No butterflies, hitting the ball well and Bumgarner. 2 things that the Giants won't have on their side come Tuesday night that they had last night. 1: Bumgarner on the mound and 2: 1st inning Shields on the mound.
What they will have is Peavy pitching and I know a few guys that are very happy to hear that and they happen to be playing for the Royals. I'll get back to that in a minute. Lets take a look at Peavys last 5 Postseason road starts.
22.1in, 22h, 12r, 1hr, 10bb, 13Ks & a 4.88era with a record of 2-3 Is this why the Giants picked him up?
Now he will be facing a line up that hits him pretty well. The starting line up for KC is hitting .303 (44/145) against him. Escobar .409 (9/22) 2HRs. Butler .340 (13/33) 3HRs. Gorden .357 (10/28) 1HR. I really like KC to score some runs in this game.
Ok, How will the 23yrold Venture, making his 1st WS start handle the pressure? Fair question. Here's my honest answer, I really have no clue and neither does anyone else. But I'll tell you what I do know. He made 2 Postseaon starts so far, 1st being in LA, GREAT JOB. The 2nd came in Baltimore were he went 5.2innings giving up 4 runs. That isn't very good, but against Peavy it may get the job done.
Now remember KC were in Playoff mode since late Aug, early Sept. In Venture's last 7 starts, six times KC lost the day before. That put added pressure on Yordano to perform, because the last thing he wanted to do was have KC lose 2 games in a row. In those 6 starts were KC lost the day before he went 4-1 with a ND (KC5-1). So that tells me he can pick up his game when his team needs him the most. And I like that.
I see no reason why KC's bullpen doesn't get the ball tomorrow night with the lead and that is all I can ask for. Will it work out this way? I can only hope. I'm calling for a KC lead of 4-2 heading into the 7th inning and a 5-2 Final!!!

Good Luck Guys!!!
