Central Florida over HOUSTON by 3
Talk about getting serious, this AAC lid-lifter in Space City figures to find a pair of conference heavyweights more ornery than Willie Robertson after seeing his 17-year-old daughter Sadie shaking it on ‘Dancing With the Stars’. George O’Leary’s Knights (1-2) have already lost more games than they did in the entire 2013 campaign while the Cougars have two September setbacks for just the second time in six seasons. Both clubs arrive with added rest and that should prove beneficial to the visitors as the Cougs have dipped to 2-8-1 ATS at home as a pick or favorite versus a foe with rest. They’re also just 2-5 ATS at home in conference openers and that doesn’t figure to bode well against a UCF squad that is 5-0 ATS as dogs versus an opponent off a double-digit SU win and 12-1 ATS as road dogs of 21 or less points off a SU victory. With those problems in Houston, it should be a good ‘Knight’ for O’Leary as he improves to 8-2 SU in conference openers – including 3-0 ATS when on the take – while his round-table mates squarely build on their recent series ‘dynasty’ (3-0 SU since 2009). Sorry Willie, but we’re in a grabbing mood.
