Today's HTOTD is not only a handicapping tip but a life tip. If you want to better yourself, surround yourself with people who are well respected. We all know of others who have gotten in with the wrong crowd and they quickly fell into the same problems as their friends. It's something you don't want to do in life and it's certainly not something you want to do in handicapping.
I have an advantage only a small portion of you out there can take advantage of, I live in Las Vegas. That means I know virtually everyone out here that is sharp at what they do. If I don't know them, I know someone who does. That means information is at my fingertips. If I have a question about a certain team or conference I can pick up the phone or take the person with that knowledge out for lunch. Sharing of information is huge out here. Today you scratch my back tomorrow I scratch yours. That's the way that it is in any successful business and the sports betting industry is no different.
Just the other day I had the pleasure of meeting up on two separate occasions with people who's knowledge I respect. I gained something valuable from both of them. Being able to throw around ideas and theories with knowledgable bettors helps my bottom line, which is making money and winning for my clients.
As long as you surround yourself with those that are smarter than you it can't help but rub off. Whether you are a high school drop out or an Ivy League graduate, you can always learn something new. I've been in this business for 30 years and not a day goes by that I don't try to better myself. This endeavor of beating the book is a lifetime process.
Yesterday we released a Rare 3 Unit play and it was a nice underdog winner on the New Orleans Hornets. Today we are releasing our National League Game of the Week.

Money management, line shopping and reading the betting markets are just as important as picking the right side.

I once read in a Tim Ferriss book that we are "the average of the 5 people we most associate with." I believe it to be true and fits into what you're pointing out here. The exchange of awareness and information is what attracted me to Pregame in the first place. Great point, Bryan.

Thanks for all the positive responses. It's nice to know that there are others who look at things a Similar way.
very well put or said Bryan, i live and die by that in my buisness.. some one out there is always smarter.. just realize it & learn lol
I've never understood others who turn a blind eye on learning. I'm reading books, articles, line moves and listening to podcasts any time I'm not talking to someone with more knowledge.
Well said Bryan. Learn every day
