Take: ROCKETS -2.5

Second of back to back road games in altitude is not normally a plus situation. But there’s not much that is normal about this edition of the Houston Rockets.

The Rockets played poorly on Friday night in a loss at New Orleans. This team has been brilliant all season when playing off a loss. Houston is 18-4/16-6 off a loss and that includes a stellar 12-2/11-3 when on the road. The Rockets have also been anything but bothered when having to play without rest. For the season, Houston stands 12-1 straight up when unrested, including nine covers.

Denver is playing good basketball right now, and the Nuggets head into tonight’s game riding a four-game winning streak. But given Houston’s resolve when they are trying to rebound from a bad game, I expect the Rockets to be all business tonight. If the right Houston team shows up, I don’t think even a hot Denver team can beat them. I’ll cough up the bucket or so and will back the Rockets.
