Jazz on a back to back roadie (7-5 SU), and they've been cruising (5 in a row, stomped N.O. last night by 34!) and now they go to Texas to play the Mavs. Utah is 15-10 on the road this year.
Mavs have lost two straight, lost 3 in a row to the Jazz, lost to Portland at home on a buzzer beater last game after Dirk got 27 and looked like old Dirk for the first time in a long time. Yogi continues to impress, Wes Mathews is thriving, Harrison Barnes is shooting better, and with Dirk now looking good, they are a tough out at home imo. They had won 9 out of 13 before the 2 game skid.
I especially love a quote from Mathews after the Portland home loss, "We need to play like our lives depend on it for 48 minutes vs Utah." when asked how to stop the losing streak.
Plus, it's F__ing HARD to sweep an NBA team 4 in a row with the 4th game on the road. Hell, 2 of the 4 meetings have been less than 5 point games with one even going OT.
So I feel like Utah is waltzing into an extra motivated, hungry for a win Dallas squad, and Utah has to be at least a little tired and looking forward to a day off.
I would take either one of these teams +4 on a neutral floor in a neutral situation. That's why this number looks too big to me.
