I will be planting Flags all though out my cemetery on friday..We aren`t a real old cemetery 1953 so we dont have WWI or 2 soldiers who died in combat...But we have a 2 Korean and 2 Gulf War soldiers and about 30 Vietnam War soldiers ..Those men were so young from the Vietnam war ...We are talking 18-22...They get all get a new Flags each year or when a run over one with the lawn mower.. Flags for soldiers is all that`s allowed to be staked into the ground.
I actually have a man who was a Vet of WW2 / Korea / Vietnam wars can you imagine that !!! He died at 57 tho rough life and what he most likley saw wore him out at a young age..
I guess i need to say, i have to guestimate if a soldier died in combat ...It doesnt tell you on the marker " died in combat" But it will say 75th Ranger Battallion Combat and the soldier was 21 and died ...So i use common sense ...But i kinda know ..
There is a local High School in Alabama who is working with finding out about every soldier from Alabama who was killed in Combat in Vietnam...And they are going to find out a little info for each one ....Its supposed to be ready next year ..Icant wait ....I want to know something about these names i see everyday ...
