RJ And Stephen Nover start this segment with a debate over whether the window is closing on the Spurs.
Right after the Warriors won the Title the Spurs were listed as 15/1 odds to win the title and now it s at 4/1 with the signing of Aldridge. The Spurs also have Duncan, Ginobili, Leonard, Green and Parker coming back as well.
Stephen thinks that the Green deal was most unexpected and underrated. Stephen feels that the Spurs have gone all in to win it this year as their window of opportunity may be closing.
RJ Agrees that they may be going all in this year, but disagrees that the window for the team may be closed after this year. He feels that Duncan has at least 2 more years left, especially since he may be able to get more rest during the season now that Aldridge is on the team. Tony is the big X factor. RJ feels that Patty Mills was the better player in the playoffs.
Dave feels that you can't count on some of the older players much longer, especially considering how many games these guys and the Spurs have played the last few years. This is a team that will really start to wear down.
Aldridge injects some youth on the team, while Leonard is not that old either. Bottom line is that RJ feels that what the Spurs did this offseason really sets them up for the longer haul, even when Duncan and Parker are gone. Pop has 4 more years on his contract and RJ feels that they are set up for at least that long.
Onto Deandre Jordan of the Clippers. Stephen blames Jordan for the debacle between the Clipps and the Mavs. He doesn't blame him for having second thoughts, just the way he handled it. He showed no class and he can't wait for when the teams hook up. If he was Cuban he would tell his team to foul Jordan every chance they get.
RJ blames the NBA for this debacle. How can you create a situation where a player and a team can make a commitment through a handshake when Millions of dollars are at stake. The NBA needs a better system for that.
Jordans reputation is now tainted, according to Stephen. He say to foul that SOB.
