First, let me say I'd like to see the Warriors win this thing, but…
Just wondering how the Klay Thompson concussion might affect the Warriors. As was mentioned here in L.A. by Klay's father on ESPN radio, Klay had blood coming out of his ear, was completely disoriented, was not himself, and needed a ride home. Obviously, we'll only get some of the facts from GS, but Klay has had no 30 point games in the playoffs and only three 25+ point games. Klay may in fact be just fine come game time and all he needed to get back in form was a knee to the head, but I have my doubts.
But I also get this feeling that the Cavs are a lot more focused and united than Golden State. It's one thing for a team to rally around a great jump shooter and this year's MVP, and another to rally behind a 4 time MVP and an already established winner and champion. I just get the sense the Cavs are the team of destiny here. They might not win game 1, but it would not surprise me to see them win this in 5. I think Lebron is the deciding element here and if the Cavs can disrupt Curry, it's a done deal.
Good luck with your game 1 pick. I tend to lean Cavs here only because GS has never had a Championship game one, especially at home, and I think the Cavs, as much as any team, has the smarts and discipline to steal this game away. I could be wrong, but that's what my instincts are telling me. But I've been wrong before…once I think!
Good luck y'all
