Last year the teams that started red hot: OKC, MIA, SA, IND, and PORT covered the spread a combined 70% of the time for the first month.
This year we are now about a month in. The top 5 teams record wise are: Tor, Mem, G St, Hou, and Port. They have gone a combined 43 - 25 ATS since the season started. That's 63% and a profit of +15.5 units.
Conversely, the bottom five teams record wise: Phi, Det, LAL, OKC, MIN have gone 27 - 39 ATS. These teams DON'T COVER 59% of the time in the first month.
Last year, things started to equal out after the first month - 6 weeks was over. I suspect the same will happen again. But again this year in the first month the hottest teams record wise showed a big profit ATS and the worst teams record wise showed a big loss ATS.
A bettors who bet on the top teams and faded the bottom teams would be up 24.3 units after the first month of the NBA. Next year I am on it for sure. You will need to watch a week of it to see who the hot teams are and who the cold ones are, after that you just have three - four weeks of just betting the hottest teams and fading the coldest ones.
