If you haven't been living under a rock the last few weeks you would know that Lebron James has an important decision to make regarding where he will play ball next year. There is way too much speculation out there that he is going to up and leave Miami, to go back home and play for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Las Vegas future books are getting pounded on the Cavs to win the title next year and the odds have sharply dropped from 60-1 to 30-1 to 18-1 and now 8-1. This is an absolute sucker bet but that debate will be for another day. Right now I need to slap you with some truth and I need everyone to shut this Cleveland rumor up. There is no chance in hell Lebron James willingly signs with the Cleveland Cavs. Turn off ESPN, don't listen to Chris Broussard and Brian Windhorst (both who are from Cleveland and hopeful Lebron returns home), ignore the Cavs moves to create cap space, ignore the Chris Bosh to the Rockets rumors, just stop it and ignore it all. It is all noise and media driven coverage to give these TV companies (ESPN) something to fill their air time with. It is all fluff, if we sit back and actually think about this situation, any reasonable person will come to the conclusion that there is no way in hell King James bolts South Beach for fuckin' Cleveland.
Have we all forgotten who owns the Cleveland Cavs?? Have we forgotten how Mr. Dan Gilbert reacted when Lebron "took his talents to South Beach??" Have we all forgotten the embarrassing hate letter (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5365704) the ungrateful **** Dan Gilbert wrote about Lebron James, a player and a man who took Mr. Gilbert's franchise on his back and took them to heights he could never imagine. It seems like the main stream media has forgotten this, but do you really think Lebron has?? Do you think Lebron doesn't remember the low life "fans" who were burning his jersey in the streets after he decided to go play basketball for a different team? (if you let a sports decision affect your life so deeply and are burning players jerseys because a player left the team you root for, when you are a 40 year old man, that is on you, and your sad sad existence. Don't blame the player for making a decision that is in his best interests, look in the mirror and get a fuckin' life) Do you think he doesn't remember how ungrateful and how pathetic Cleveland acted when, after 7 years of his blood, sweat and tears and 7 years of having fuckin' Larry Hughes and Delonte West as his second best players, and 7 years of losing in the playoffs and or finals, 7 years of playing 1 vs 5 in the biggest games??? Do you think Lebron would have let his friend Dwayne Wade opt out of his deal that guaranteed him $40 million over 2 years, knowing that D Wade can not get that kind of contract anywhere on the open market now, if he was going to leave Miami and go to Cleveland??
Was "The Decision" a **** move by Lebron? Hell yes. Could he have handled it a better way and let the Cavs know his decision before he announced it on national TV? Yes of course. But he raised almost a half million dollars by doing so, all of which he donated to one of his charities for children. And can you really blame him for leaving a dysfunctional franchise that he was forced to play for because he was drafted there, to team up with superstars D Wade and Chris Bosh in the amazing city that is Miami?? Do you really blame the best player in the world for taking control of his life and future?? This Decision was obviously the right one as the Heat made the finals all 4 years Lebron has been there and have won 2 NBA titles. Now Lebron has another decision to make, and he has been absolutely radio silent regarding it these past few weeks. The media is building this up by using leaked reports, from Lebrons agent and camp and other teams around the league, that are purposely leaked to be smoke screens. The media is building this up and acting like Lebron has told anyone he is interested in going to Cleveland. Cleveland is acting like a crazy ex girlfriend who now thinks they have a chance to get "the one that got away back" when in reality "the one that got away" has no interest in them and is using them to get their current girl to step their shit up.
In theory Lebron to the Cavs sounds nice on the court, especially if the Cavs can flip Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love (another smokescreen the media is running with). But would this team be better than what the Heat can offer?? Does Lebron really want to go to a team that is so young and inexperienced?? Lebron wants to win the NBA title every single year. Do you think he wants to win a title for Dan Gilbert?? With his talents he is very capable of winning the title every year, but as we all saw this year, it isn't about one player, it is about the team, and quite frankly Miami has the best team (between Miami and Cleveland) and will put the best team around Lebron that will give him his best chance to win another title. Lebron doesn't want to wait for these young guys to develop and go through growing pains of a young team, he's already been there and done that in Cleveland. What I think Lebron should do and will do is sign with the Miami Heat for the max salary, but only sign a 2-3 year deal. Lebron likes flexibility and he knows he has all the power in this situation, and he should, so he can stay in Miami for another few years then do this free agency thing over again when a lot more teams will have cap space. D Wade, Chris Bosh, and Ray Allen will shortly sign after and the Heat will start filling in the missing pieces. The signing of Josh McRoberts gives the Heat another big that can stretch the floor, knock down the 3 pointer and plays tough defense. Shabazz Napier is a nice player who will thrive with the Heat by giving them tough gritty minutes at PG, and he is a proven winner. Lebron will stay in Miami with a stable front office of GM/President Pat Riley and owner Mickey Aronson, and one of the longest tenured coaches in the league in Eric Spoelstra. If it ain't broke, don't fix it Lebron. Losing to the Spurs in the finals does not mean this thing is broke, it just needs a tweak, which is something Pat Riley will make happen. Why would he bolt this structure and the weather and women of South Beach to play for a coach who hasn't been a head coach in the NBA before, a team who has had a few different GM's the last couple of years and a despicable owner who called him "disloyal", "narcissistic", and said his move to the Heat was a "cowardly betrayal??"
Go ahead and believe the media Cleveland, go ahead and believe in your fantasy world that the best basketball player in the world, is going to willingly leave the Miami Heat, a team who he has won 2 titles with. Go ahead and get your hopes up, and get ready to spew more hate towards the player and person you so badly want when he makes his decision to stay in Miami. (hopefully this time with a statement through his agent or a note on his website instead of a national television broadcast) Cleveland is setting itself up for another heart break, and it's very sad and pathetic to watch as an objective outsider. It's similar to watching one of your whipped boys give his life for a girl who is clearly not into him the way he is into her. It's like watching some clown with no game hit on a chick at a bar and not reading her polite "no thank you's" as her not being into them. It's an awkward thing to watch as you see the train wreck and heart break coming but there is nothing you can do to save them.
