Me and a buddy have started to create a system to predict NBA totals.  We are using points scored and points allowed per 100 possessions and pace.  Rather than try to tackle the entire league, we are just focusing on division matchups and analyzing those numbers to maybe find an edge.

We are certainly no experts so I'm posting this here in hopes to maybe get some feedback or advice.  Any other possible variables we should include, maybe rest? Also, we are compiled 2010-2011 data and then testing it with 2011-2012 results.  We have to do this by hand unless if anyone knows any sights that could help?

If i uncover anything worthwhile, I will certainly share.

Days of rest, home/away, Conference/non-Conference, division/non-division, off a loss, off a win, playoff revenge. A lot of different variables you can use.

Money management, line shopping and reading the betting markets are just as important as picking the right side.
