As far as FT goes, now I know why Chris Paul looks absolutely pissed off at his coach and teammates in the last minute of a game they'll actually win!!

Were initially split down the middle on 1.44

THE Leading in authority of NBA Advanced Stats, 
(& former/fellow OregonLIVE Journalist/Contributor, John Hollinger - 
whom - of course, developed PER*, 
The NBA Player Personal Efficiency Rating Indexing Criteria)
Hollinger openly scoffed at the notion that any shot, missed or otherwise 
Could have any superimposed inflated number affixed to it; 

Yet after Mr Siena, 'KEN-POM' (Ken Pomeroy), 
Simply ran numbers & calculated 20+ Years of CBB-only Stats
Assigned a well-oiled, clocked 1.44 Number to The Missed Front End, 
Hollinger, as well as John Gassaway & the CBB-wing of Basketball Prospectus Gaggle 
Quickly followed, and the number began showing up in Hollinger's work as well

‘Debate list is seemingly endless: 

eStats for ‘Drawn Charges’ & 
Efficiencies based on % of shots blocked, ect, 
(Hard to quantify - w/the specialization, perimeter vs. paint, ect)

In fact, all differing statistical criteria 
For the myriad of variations of PER* 
(Player Rating Systems) 
All under never-ending, justified critical review

ESPN’s John Hollinger himself has tweaked his PER* System 
To account for PACE | TEMPO Variations of 30 NBA Teams 

Latest Raging issue is the Hoopsstats incorporation / calculations of 
“Most Improved” Rankings, into all sorts of Player Efficiency Rating Number Formulas 

Not purposely name dropping (hand-to-God), 
Yet decades-long relationship w/KP compels me to chronicle this..

As a guy whom does a great deal of coaching, 
I/we Stat-Guys owe a lot to Ken Pomeroy 
Perhaps more than any other for 
Sensational, innovative work he puts out on kenpom.com, 

KP's Blog & Numbers were an Essential Template for coaches to evaluate 
Games & players; Opponents & trends; Weaknesses & strengths 

ABOVE ALL ELSE, KEN POMEROY INOVATED WAYS FOR FOLKS TO 

EVALUATE &/OR TRIANGULATE LEVELS OF EFFICIENCY

Also, just my own jaded view that
Ken too often gets shafted, snubbed & (worst of all) 
Disregarded as an innovator 

When eNBA / Advanced Stat models & theory is discussed
Simply on the basis that KP ‘experimentation’ 
(in areas such as his ‘LUCK’ Ratings, ect)
Somehow Sophomoric | Outlandish

Just my few soapbox pennies for this fine Sunday
