Hou/LA has been ugly. How ugly? Game after game of sporadic intentional fouls resulting in an endless number of free throws. Five games, and five 'overs' despite often sub par shooting.
Enough is enough. I don't care about purity. I don't care about fairness. I want the best product the NBA can deliver, and this simply isn't it. I'm pretty confident others feel the same way, and we WILL say a change (the simplest rule change would simply call for a team that is fouled outside of the final minute of a 4th quarter has the option to pass on the free throw attempts and simply take the ball). That will end all the nonsense currently going on, and give us a much better product.
An alternative rules change that will never fly is to have any defensive foul results in 1 free throw AND the ball. This would make the act of fouling much more of a serious offense, and it would increase scoring while decreasing ALL fouls significantly.
What do you guys think of these two possible rules changes? Do you think the NBA will go with something similar to the first one in the near future?
Off a winning Tuesday on the capping front, we fire in on MLB today (and perhaps one NBA wager later if we get the right line).
Good luck to all today!
