A little discussion here about the evolution of the betting market, especially when it pertains to last year's NBA playoffs vs this year's.
It seems like every year there are different people involved than the last year. RJ asks Dave what he sees in this year's market, opposed to last year's as far as the NBA playoffs go.
Dave states that its more random this year, meaning that it is hard to predict where the money is coming from. He says you will see it move on a team in one game and against said team in the next.
He states that the lines will run on some games with no buy back at all on the other team and that is a sign of a different market.
Teddy states we are seeing that in the Atlanta game tonight as all the money is coming in on the hawks and the same can be said for Portland as well as all the money is coming in on the Blazers there. The Portland game is more injury relate, while the Atlanta game is the Zig-Zag theory.
Dave does state that in the last few years, 3 big betting groups have left the market and that could be affecting the markets as well.
Will new groups come around? Dave isn't sure and also states that they may already be out there. There are some moves right now that he just doesn't know where the money is coming from.
