Aaron Bruski joins the show to talk about Rondo being traded to the Mavs and the Kings firing of Mike Malone, plus at the end Aaron will attempt to go 3-0 on the show as he won his last 2 plays that Scott has thrown at him.
The Mavs are 19-8 on the year, but still the feeling is that they were not at the level of the elite teams in the conference. Rondo may have changed all that. Aaron doesn't think the trade is bad and also states that this trade has Mark Cuban written all over it. hi team hasn't relly be a contender of late so he felt its a deal that was needed to be made.
You have to have a point guard in the west and rondo gives them that, but the question with him will be his defense. He is a good defensive player, but his stats don't really show it. Offensively he may make the Mavericks the best in the league.
He is number 1 in assists per game over the last 5 years and will give them stability at the point guard spot moving forward. The trade for him really puts the Mavs in more of a contenders role.
On to Sacramento, who fired HC Mike Malone this week. The Kings had been playing solid ball and very good defense for the first time in a decade, plus they had just lost Cousins to an illness and just when he was ready to come back the Kings decided to fire Malone.
Aaron's take on this is was that there was talk on Malone being fired last year and with an impatient regime and the fact that when Cousins went down they just decided that this was the time to make a move. They are in talks with George Karl to replace him, while Malone has a shot at the Cleveland job should David Blatt be fired.
Ok it's time for Aaron's pick. He likes the Spurs -4.5 over the Trailblazers tonight.
