Steam is when the betting lines move because the books are getting significantly more action on one side than the other. So like the -4 line on OAK gets a ton of action or vise-versa with CIN 4. They need to make the opposite side of the pick look more attractive to gain more action for it. Sportsbooks make money when people bet on both sides of the equation, so when more action goes to one side or the other, it's bad for business. That's my novice answer after doing this for a day. lol
