Although the Kings have jumped to a commanding 2-0 series lead, two small mistakes by the devils are the only reason this series is not 2-0 in the Devils favor. In game 1, the Devils started off shaky due to nerves, and finished strong. Minus the blown pinch by Zidlicky, the Devils dominated the third period as well as the overtime. In game 2, the devils had a better start, and in the total 60 minute game, allowed only one goal that arguably, Brodeur should of had. Meanwhile, the Devils controlled much of the pace, including a Kovalchuk shot off the crossbar with 15 seconds to go. This series was 2 inches away from being tied 1-1. Another small mistake by the Devils in their own zone allowed Carter to get a fluky shot off. No way the devils lose 3 in a row this way. And with a value of +160, way too much to let pass with the way theyve played.
