A few items caught my eye today. First off it was on this date back in 1970 that Brian Piccolo of the Bears passed from cancer. Yes, I remember it. I was 11 years old and it was shocking to see a healthy NFL ball player pass so quickly from cancer. Piccolo was well liked by everyone and it was a blow for Chicago and the league in general. Sad thing is today Piccolo would have very likely survived the type of cancer is was dealt. The whole thing spawned the movie Brian's Song which might be the single saddest sports movie in history. It was also on this date that an event happened in a Montreal Expos game that was pretty bizarre. Otis Nixon of the Expos set a new major league record by swiping six bases in one game. Think about that for a moment. That's impressive. I remember attending a Cardinals double header once when Lou Brock got five, but six in one game is pretty impressive. Had to be one grumpy catcher that night because he and his pitchers were getting toyed with.
Okay, a free selection. Tonight I am suggesting a small wager on the Padres and Ross over the Mariners and Young. Frankly both clubs are scuffling along and I assure you this is not even sniffing a subscription play. There are trends here supporting both causes. If you want a late night play for some action that is what I would call this. Just being candid fellas.
On the business side we cashed easily sunday night with the big Triple on the Spurs as they sealed the deal and blew the defending champions out of the building. Sure, the beginning was shaky but I can honestly say I felt all along the Spurs would get it into gear and take care of business for us. Thank you to all those who tailed. I do have a rare baseball rabid dog going as a featured release tonight. Actually the last baseball rabid dog featured release came clear back on april 13th, and yes it did win with the Twins knocking off the Royals in Kansas City. The long term record for these selections speaks for itself. Anyway, one if in play tonight. One other note, many sincere thanks to all those who have already signed up for the football package. Last year we kicked the books ass in football winning exactly 100 units. I cannot wait for that first kick off. Just wanted to take a moment to say thanks. Okay, that is it for today. Best of luck this week with your action guys. Enjoy the games. And please remember, without self discipline and money management you have zero chance long term to survive. None whatsoever, you will be road kill. Been involved with sports wagering for four decades. Just saying. Take care!!
