We have 2 day games today that I am looking at and wanted to go ahead and put out some numbers while I have a few moments. I got the day off work so looking over the MLB a little more now that I have got the NHL knocked out for tonight!
Minnesota @ Cleveland
I am leaning to the Twins and Under here. The Twins in day games this season are 11-8 vs the Indians who are 5-11 in day games. Both of these teams BA in these situations are not stellar by any means but the Twins do have a slightly higher BA with .252 on the road and a .242 vs right hand starters, the Indians on the other hand are hitting .246 at home and .241 vs right handed starters. The two teams are a combined 2-13 to the under in their last 7 games and I do believe with the stats already mentioned and the starters we have going today, this game will stay under the post total of 8. The only small concern I have on the total is how the Twins have performed during day games, they have actually gone 13-5 to the over. But I will ride the current streak and stick to the under here.
Houston @ Detroit
How can one not look at the Tigers yet again here. The Astros are just a horrible team and I do believe that the Tigers will once again win this game. The Astros are 1-6 in their last 7 games and only hitting .250 in that time spand and allowing an amazing 6.3 runs to their opponent over the last 7. To make things worse for Houston they have played in 9 day games this season and have gone 2-7 hitting only .219 in this situation. On the flip side of things we look at Detroit and see they are 7-0 in their last 7 games or we can even say 8-0 last 8 and won 9 of the past 10. The Tigers have averaged 6.7 runs over last 7 while hitting .320 and keeping their opponents to an average of 2.1 runs and a BA of .186! Tigers have gone 10-3 this season on day games and should be able to take today's game as well against a poor Astros team.
