A few things caught my eye today. The first involved the second best pitcher I ever saw with my own eyes. Bob Gibson would be at the top of that list. It was on this date back in 1961 that Sandy Koufax whiffed 18 batters in a game. He became the first pitcher to do so on TWO separate occasions. Koufax and Don Drysdale were an amazing pair. But the best starting staff in my mind that comes to me is the 1969 Orioles, yes, the team that fell to the Miracle Mets. That club had FOUR twenty game winners in the starting rotation. Just think about that, Dave McNally, Jim Palmer, Mike Cuellar and Pat Dobson. Possibly the best club in any single given year to not win the rings. It was also on this date back in 94 that David Robinson lit up the Clippers for 71 points. Robinson was a class act, both on and off the court.
Okay, a free play. Tonight I like the Golden State Warriors to be ready to tear down the locker room door to get at the Clippers. They will humiliated at Staples center the other night and although I still like the Clippers to take the series I have a strong feeling tonight will belong to Mark Jackson's club. Obviously, as I told one of my clients earlier, they need Thompson to stay on the floor and Curry has just got to work even harder to get his looks. That team's pride got kicked around on national TV the other night. I do expect a huge effort in the Oracle tonight.
On the business side I do have an NBA Triple Star already loaded up. It involves one of the friday games. I always tell it like it is. I dropped the first playoff Triple on Memphis in game one at Oklahoma City when they just got off to too slow a start to recover from. I feel very confident I have the game to get that money back with here. As always, gonna tell it plainly, it's not a lock. I don't do that nonsense. Thanks and best of luck with your action today guys.
