Getting ready to head out to a family gathering on this 4th of July holiday, but I wanted to stop by and give you a freebie that I like. My 7-day, 7-game winning streak ended last night when the Twins fell to Detroit in 16 innings, 11-9. Tough loss to take, especially after they rallied from a 6-run deficit, but it is what it is.

I'm sure you know by now that I'm the $6 Summer Sizzler capper today. No more needs to be said other than that this game is an afternoon play, so you have to get it early if you want it.

Detroit (Jackson) at #974 Minnesota (Liriano) -125, 4:10 pm ET

As I said, I lost with the Twins last night, so I'm giving them a chance to win back some of our money today. Edwin Jackson has been lights-out this season, but he is quite often the victim of a lack of run support. The 3.5 runs per game the Tigers have given him is third lowest among AL starters. Jackson is also 1-3 with a 7.00 ERA and 1.78 WHIP in his career against Minnesota.

Francisco Liriano is coming off a very solid start at St. Louis (7 IP, 2 ER) and he pitched very well at Detroit earlier this season ( 7 1/3 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 9 K). Minnesota's pen is also very solid, with the exception of junkballer R.A. Dickey (yes, I'm still bitter about last night). I think the Twins are worth a half-unit shot today.

Let's all do some MAJOR DAMAGE today, fellas, and have a GREAT 4th of July!

Yeah, that was the ballgame right there.  I was watching the game with a friend and I told him the Twins would lose as soon as I saw they put that junk-baller R.A. Dickey on the mound.  Pathetic.
