    Today In Baseball

Aaron Harang gives up more hits than any other pitcher in the N.L.  Although he gives up a lot of hits, opponents are hitting .216 with RISP and .240 with runners on.  His home ERA is 2.87 and he has 43K's to 8 BB's.  He is facing an Arizona line up that is at the top of the league in strikeouts and hitting .245 as a team.  In addition to that the Diamondbacks line up is hitting .242 against Harang.  The starting pitcher for the Diamondbacks will be Doug Davis who has been the talk of trade rumors.  Although Davis is 3-8 as a starter, he has some impressive stats.  In his last 19 innings he only gave up 4 runs and only gave up more than 3 runs 5 times out of 16 starts.  And 3 of those games were 4 run games.  He can walk some batters at time but has a BAA under .200 with runners on and RISP.  With both of these teams struggling to get in runs; I like the game total to go under.

The Chicago White Sox have won 5 straight games and are 3-0 on this road trip.  They hitting .286 on the road and .324 in the last 7 days.  They have scored 39 runs in their last 5 games and find themselves 3 games back of the division leading Detroit Tigers.  The White Sox are moving and moving fast.  Very tough line up to deal with.  They will be facing Bruce Chen making his second start, that just gave up 4 runs in his last start against Pittsburgh.  The Royals have only scored 11 runs in their last 5 games.  Kansas City is at the bottom of the league in runs scored and OBP.

    White Sox ML

    White Sox +1.5
