Well, buckle your seat belts. It's about to get nuts. First of all today there was a moment that stood out some to me. It was on this date back in 1995 that Michael Jordan returned to Chicago after nearly two years in retirement. He put up 19 points in a loss to the Pacers. That game, televised on NBC, was the most watched game in NBA history with an estimated 35 million viewers. And yes, I was among those. People debate things all the time, part of the allure of it all. But the one thing that generally is not debated too hotly is whether Michael Jordan is the greatest of all time. He still gets my vote. Maybe James will over take him but not yet, not in this guys corner. I do remember watching some coverage of him when he went to spring training with the White Sox to give that a go, I saw him get chewed up badly but a big old hook from a lefty and I knew then this was likely a fantasy gone awry. But on the hardwood, Michael was THE man.
Okay, clearly a crazy time. Lot's of people in a frenzy. As a bookie I walked around with constant wood over March madness, it's a bookies wet dream. I am only one voice and people will, in the end, do whatever they feel like, but I sleep better at night knowing I at least tried to warn you that self discipline and money management will once again rule the day. There are sports bettors and sports gamblers and that is NEVER more in evidence than march madness. Guys, don't chase. Don't panic. Have a budget and stick to it. Hopefully when the dust settles you will have made some nice coin. Hopefully you don't get caught up in the moment and blow your roll by friday. As a bookie I've seen it, a few thousand times.
On the business side. I have one Triple Star featured release loaded for friday. I also have one that subscribers have already that goes friday night. My long term success with these selections here is well documented. Won't harp on that now. I also believe firmly in always telling the whole truth. While I have won 12 of the last 16 featured releases last night was a nut cruncher as Davidson totally melted down to a Missouri club that was absolutely ripe for the picking. I had Davidson -7.5 and they lost by 8. Were not down by 8 the entire game until the final moments, literally. I know, it's like taking a sucker punch to the gut but those things happen. But, you cannot dwell on it. You pick yourself up and move on and put it in the rear view mirror. But, I as always, went to my pro page and updated the numbers. YES, I do keep long term numbers and YES, they are accurate. My clients know I am meticulous as hell at updating them. Win or lose.
Okay, tons of work to be done. Much like a farmer, a handicappers work is never truly done. Best wishes for the madness guys. Keep your heads about you and remember, ENJOY!!!!
