I would love nothing more than a horse racing podcast
Big Sack! Dude, always appreciate you listening and giving your feedback.
I have nothing against horse racing. In fact, the lengthiest single one-guest Betting Dork we've ever done was the one previewing this year's Derby w Marco (who hit the longshot winner, by the way). I actually am fascinated by how folks cap it and am committed to segments prior to the Triple Crown races, no matter what. I actually remember when those races mattered to a huge percentage of our population.
But, sadly, what I alluded to on this week's show was not me giving my opinion but rather me just relating the numbers. The two least listened-to pods I did in the entire 2011 calendar year were on hockey and horse racing. And I mean, by far the least listened to.
It certainly could be my shortcomings. But it has nothing to do w the guests whatsoever. They were all great. I think if we got on and whispered the word "football" over and over for 40 minutes straight, it'd get more listens than shows focusing on those sports. Okay, maybe not, but u get the idea. Ultimately, while I have one eye on doing the best shows possible, I also have to bow down to the numbers because they don't lie. So, yes to hockey and horse racing in the future, but in doses.
