Our NFL season continues strong (back to back Sunday sweeps) and we've got a Max (10-3) for this week, as well as the $175 a month football special going on. Even MLB is finally doing well. It happens. And, we're unloading again Saturday but patiently waiting for the right number.
We've ALSO got a Triple Dime MLB bet for tonight as well as CFB and the NFL in the all-access package.
Packers/Bears: So the line opens at -9 and now sits at -7.5 most places in spite of a reasonable amount of tickets, most on the Packers. That's likely people playing "numbers" and it will, IMO, close at 7. So, it's sooner rather than later if you like the Bears. I most certainly don't like the over simply because both teams rank too low for me in Red Zone scoring. Green Bay has won 12 of the last 15 meetings against the Bears - and LOST the second game at home to Chicago last season, which COULD be a bit more motivation. Prior to that Bears 17-13 win the two had combined for 54 or more points in four straight meetings - but I don't think (or my money doesn't think) that I can all of a sudden assume that Rodgers will have the break-out game. None of Green Bays' three wins have come by more than seven points, so that does preclude me from thinking this one will be a blowout. The Bears have only scored more than 17 points ONCE, against the Colts (and lost). So, most likely the aforementioned would lead me to the Bears and under, a split at worst IMO.
V-Tech/Miami: I have to think that at least some of the Canes early success was the level of their competition. Remember, they still have players that aren't Richt's players - so a complete turnaround just isn't usually likely. They've lost two straight so could well be "thinking" a bit too much. Miami beat V-Tech twice last season - so if we assume the Hokies loss at Syracuse was a flat spot, looking ahead to this one - then perhaps V-Tech is the right side. Either way, I can't take Miami here.
I have bet South Alabama at +8.5.
