As promised every thursday throughout the season I will be coming on here on thursdays to provide the forum a free NFL release. Last week we cashed with our free selection on the Vikings. Hope it helped some out.
This week I am going down south. I am suggesting a wager on the Houston Texans -2.5 as they host the Kansas City Chiefs. I faded the Chiefs in the opener and I am doing likewise this week. I still feel the Chargers would have won that game last sunday at Arrowhead had Keenan Allen not gone down. That seemed to just suck the oxygen out of that Chargers offense. Nothing against the Chiefs here, my second favorite team from a rooting standpoint but as I have stated probably a few thousand times over the years here, fan emotion cannot enter into capping games. More often that not it's lethal. That was a dramatic game last sunday for the Chiefs and an emotional high. Now they have to recharge that battery and take the show on the road against an opponent that has likely been very, very much looking towards this game. The Texans will recall well last year and the playoff loss at home to this Chiefs team. What a lot of folks won't recall is the fact the Chiefs actually drummed this Houston club not once last season but twice. I don't personally think however this Chiefs defense is on a par with what they fielded last year, not yet it isn't. That comeback, as hard as this is to believe considering their long history, was the biggest comeback in Chiefs history. I have been listening to a lot of chatter about the Chiefs on Kansas City sports talk radio and everyone from the players on down to the callers seem scary confident going down to Houston. Maybe a little too confident my gut is telling me. I think they will be strutting into a hornets nest. I don't rely much on trends as a guiding light as my long term clients know but I do perform my due diligence to often will post some I find actually interesting or even more importantly, relevant. Candidly I am not finding much here to support either side guys. Fact is the Chiefs have covered the number in only one game in the last five week 2 games. Not sure either how exactly things stand with Jamaal Charles. Word had it he has lost a step and Spencer Ware is about to assume the role as the featured back. Ware is good, don't get me wrong, but he is not Charles in his prime.
I think too many people are overreacting to the comeback last week. Yes, it was a emotional win and any win in league play is huge. It also got a gorilla off the Chiefs backs because frankly they had sucked of late in home openers at Arrowhead. As I told my clients going into last weeks game they had been outscored by a whopping 66 points in the last three openers at Arrowhead. So yes, it was a big win. But maybe I am being stubborn, I was glad to cash the Chargers ticket but still do firmly feel the Allen injury was bigger than most suspect.
Anyway, there it is guys. I like the Texans at home here laying the 2.5 points. Won't be shocked if this moves to 3 by kick off. I see Houston here as the right side.
On the business side I have two featured releases loaded for saturday and sunday. My one & only SEC Game of the Year kicks off this weekend. I had only one last season and yes, it cashed back on september 26th with Kentucky over my Mizzou Tigers. (Remember the whole fan emotion thing). I like the game, a lot. I also have a Triple Star NFL Rabid Dog in play sunday. Have won a very strong 61 of 91 on those the last few years. Both of those are up and loaded.
That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by and I do wish you the best of luck this weekend with your action. I can also add that I passed on the NFL game tonight. I saw no edge anywhere. Better games this weekend.
