The power that is asked me to write what would be MY Dream Team for football. Clearly I think I should be on everyone's list (if you don't have confidence you won't win) but this should be a fun exercise. Much of this is simply from memory - so surely I'll leave someone(s) off that should be included.
NFL Regular Season: Last year Spartan did NOT have his best NFL year, but historically he is very good. I suspect that what happened is the YEAR BEFORE he won just about everything there was to win - hence many more clients last season, adding some pressure to duplicate what was probably not duplicatable. That has happened to me this baseball season.
Fezzik has been tremendous with his RSW totals and already has a package up. Shaker has been very good with totals. Nover, from memory - has had more winning seasons than losing ones. JR O'Donnell almost always has those Sunday night and stand alone games. If I left anyone off, tough sh*t.
The point there is and it's the same for EVERY SUBSCRIPTION - find someone who plays the volume you like, gets plays out when YOU need them - and clearly communicates in a manner YOU find favorable. It's YOUR money.
NFL Playoffs: That one is fairly easy for me. GoodFella almost always does well, usually better than me - because he's got bigger balls than me when it comes to firing plays that have what we call "noise" - or perhaps better put, he has the confidence to FWR (fire when ready) regardless of the talking heads, rumors and innuendo's that tend to circle a bigger game that there are simply TOO MANY opinions on. Now, if he loses the $1 play tonight then all bets are off.
Given that the playoffs are different animals - they DO need to be looked at in a different light, IMHO.
CFB Regular Season: That's a tough one. I do know that Ken Thompson has been very solid over the years and has great information and insight. I have no idea what his records are, and I'm sure someone out there will be more than happy to provide them, especially if they aren't top notch/winning. That is just how it goes. And then of course there is Simon who killed it last season, and of course people will expect the same result this year. I know he does.
If you're like many that don't have a large bankroll and cannot justify spending the money, both Sleepy J and Vegas Butcher put out a ton of great information that's not going to add insult to injury on the oft chance they lose a game.
CFB Bowl Season: Until last season horsesh*t Bowl Season I actually could have said me. But, because you're only as good as "lately". Honestly, I think the key to a Bowl Season is to find the handicapper that puts out the amount of plays you're expecting. Some play only a few games and might be solid, while others play 75% of them feeling they have an edge, and of course some play every one of them. That just goes back to earlier when I said that you really need to find someone in ALL disciplines that puts out the plays you want, communicates clearly why, and is accessible to question of give sh*t to when a 3* Game of the Year actually loses.
That's all I got.
