It's amazing to me how barren some days can be when it comes to historical sports moments. Well, today is such a day. I guess it is of note that it was on this day back in 1964 that Shea stadium hosted it's first and only ball game. I never did attend a game there. But I did make one all star game at the old Busch stadium. It was back when the games were played during the day and it was hot as hell. When asked what he thought of the brand new Busch Stadium, Casey Stengel replied that it sure held the heat well. As we all know many times the game is a boring mess. But sometimes not. Two moments stick out for yours truly. I recall being on a family vacation to canada in 1971 and watching the all star game that year that was played in Detroit. Reggie Jackson hit a home run off Doc Ellis of the Pirates that might have been the hardest hit ball I've ever seen. I mean he just squared up on one and crushed it. The other moment that comes to mind is the all star game when Pete Rose bowled over catcher Ray Fosse of the Indians. People can still view both these plays today on you tube. I know there are varying opinions on whether the all star game should decide home field. Frankly I can see both sides. I do like the fact the game "counts". But I also see how it is unfair to the team who compiles the best overall record during the regular season getting screwed over.
Okay, a free play. Cashed with the last one and let's see about another. Tonight I suggest playing the under 7 in the San Diego at Los Angeles game.
On the business side I cashed with another Triple Star release last night as the Jays got it done on the run line against the slumping Royals. Have now cashed on 40 of my last 56 Triple Star releases. I have another one up and loaded for tonight. On the season am up a solid 30 units.
Hope everyone has a great day and best of luck with your action.
