We all have bets we have won or lost in weird fashion. War stories. Today as I scanned the events one of those came back for yours truly. It was 1997 and Mike Tyson was going up against Evander Holyfield for the WBA title in Las Vegas. I was in Rolla, Mo for the weekend competing in a softball tournament. It had been a long hot day at the ball park and we were back at the motel sitting around the pool drinking some beer. I had put nothing big but for fun a couple hundred bucks on Tyson. Me dad was still alive and he was sitting there beside me and one of my teammates came out by the pool shaking his head. He said the fight was already over. Of course I asked who won the thing. He replied and laughed that Holyfield did because Tyson was disqualified. That seemed bizarre so I asked what the hell had he done. My teammate Travis replied, and I will never forget it, "that crazy f cker Tyson bit his ear off." Well, what in the hell do you say to that. My dad and I just looked at each other. I mean, what can you do. I just said oh well, didn't see that coming.
I had some weird things happen with Holyfield fights. Once my buddies and I were in Vegas and Holyfield was fighting Riddick Bowe. The fight was suspended for awhile when a parachute dropped into the ring. Once again, not something you see every day. It was a bizarre scene.
Okay, a free winner. Tonight I suggest playing the over in the Astro's and Angels game. With Feldman and Lincecum on the hill I do expect some action. I also like the Astros side.
On the business side I am going for my 500th career Triple Star winner tonight. Cashed last night with Houston in a game that was frankly closer than it should have been. Have won now 14 of the last 20 overall baseball releases. As for the Triples over the last couple of months have cashed on 34 of 49 on them. Just a eye lash below 70% winners. Anyway, there is one game I am dialed into tonight to make my milestone.
Also been notified part of the Pregame 3 day slash promotion. For the next 3 days the 7 & 30 day packages are being offered at a very reasonable discounted rate.
Many thanks as always and best of luck tonight with your action.
