Tough times around here for the Chiefs fans. Hopes and expectations were high. A little too high in my view. I thought they were biting off more than they could chew in New England last weekend. Of course now the critics come out of the woodwork. I listen to the talking heads often on Kansas City sports talk radio and they are so damn fickle. Talk about what have you done for me lately. During the winning streak Andy Reid could have been elected mayor. He gets them to the post season and their first playoff victory in 22 years and then loses at New England and the jackals come out. Yes, he has some issues with time management, that is no secret among those who follow the league. But, in the end he is a winning NFL football coach. Is Alex Smith the long term solution at QB, I'm skeptical but super bowls have been won with equal talent at the position. Trent Dilfer comes to mind.
I felt some real fan emotion saturday night. Nobody gave my Packers much of a prayer at Arizona. I took them plus the points and cashed. I felt they would show up and play well. They did. They dangled that carrot in front of us only to let it slip away in overtime. How Fitzgerald got so open is still mind boggling. That is now two years in a row they have gone out of the playoffs in overtime.
The Missouri basketball program got penalized by the NCAA and nobody around here is shocked or frankly too upset. That is the sad state of affairs with Tiger basketball. Never seen it so bad. Sad deal.
I saw where ESPN rated the top ten NBA centers of all time. I have no real issue with anything but the top two slots.I would flip flop Jabbar and move Wilt into the top spot. I saw both play and to me Wilt was the man. It is no disrespect to Kareem to be called the second best in history. Cotton, when still alive was in Moberly once for a reunion golf tourney and he stated he felt Wilt was the one and he certainly saw both up close and personal in his coaching career in the league.
Anyway, now we move onto the conference finals this weekend. I am bunkered in and looking at both games very closely. The playoffs are going very well for my clients and I. There is one of the games I love, almost too much. Still doing my due diligence. I do have a big SEC hoops game of the week tipping tonight.
Not much else today. Lot's of work to do but a snowy day here and a good one to sit in the office and get work done. Thanks for stopping by and best of luck with your action. Any thoughts just go ahead and shoot. Take care guys.
