Den is now laying -6.75. total 39.5.
This line has gone CRAZY. There is no question Pit IS the better team if healthy. Given this, we should be rushing to the window to bet the Steelers +7. We obviously have to worry about WR Brown's status, and will RB Willams play? However, the real key of course is Big Ben.
How hurt is he? I think he is REALLY hurt. Ligament damage with a separated shoulder? I don't care how tough a QB is, I don't see how he will be able to perform on Sunday. He publicly said he could not throw the ball more than 15 yards last week, and he was so hurting that the Steelers initially put Landry Jones in with the game on the line. I think Big Ben is not going to be able to perform. So despite +7 being a ridiculous number, I want no part of a Steelers team that is physically beat up and I think basically won't have a QB Sunday.
However, if Ben CAN play effectively, +7 would be stealing since this line would be around +3 if he was healthy.
Given all this, I think we have to wait til we see the flop on this game. Let's watch the 1st quarter carefully and fire in bets accordingly. If Ben cannot throw the ball downfield, he essentially becomes a "bad" Peyton Manning......and a rested Denver Team with a rested Peyton Manning should cruise vs. the Steelers if that is the case (think back to KC pulling away from Pit earlier this year).
On the handicapping front, I LOVE an NBA play for tonight. I rarely get involved with larger NBA favorites, but I am FIRING on a game I expect to be a complete blowout:
