Hey guys, It was on this date back in 2006 that Mr Personality, Barry Bonds connected for his career homer #715. The home run enabled Bonds to surpass Babe Ruth on the all time list. As you might guess, and those on the forum who know me realize, I don't hold Bonds in very high regard. Of course we all know Bonds was certainly not the only guy juicing at the time. It was rampant and turned the grand old game of baseball into games where the scores most closely resembled those of my slow pitch softball league. Of course he lied about it, as did some others and everyone knew he was lying..It was my personal view that the guy was basically a creep. I still consider the Babe and Hank Aaron in a totally different light than I do Bonds. Just telling it like I personally see it. No denying the guys raw skills, he was a special player without the added help. I just lost respect for him due to his attitude. On a lighter note it was also on this date back in 1951 that the great Willie Mays slugged his first dinger. It was also his first hit in the show. I had the opportunity to see Mays play one time at Busch Stadium against the Cardinals. But it was very late in his career and his knees and reflexes were shot. He was totally over matched at the plate that night. I do believe that was his final year. It was clear he had hung on too long. It is very difficult for some stars to hang up the cleats, in any sport. Kind of reminded me of seeing Johnny Unitas in footballl wearing a San Diego Chargers uniform or Joe Namath with the Rams. It was sad.
Okay, a free play. The free plays on the forum have been cashing. Actually better than these featured releases in the NBA post season truth be told. Don't even get me started on James Harden. Between chucking up air balls and dribbling the ball off his foot and basically being a turn over machine I have a tough time recalling a more frustrating game to sit through. Everyone can have a tough night, but come on man. Tonight I like the Yankees out on the coast as they start a western swing. The Yankees went though a brutal stretch but surprisingly got healthy against a very good Royals club. I don't trust Oakland further than I can spit, I think the Yanks are worth a small wager with CC on the bump tonight.
On the business side I have no featured release in play tonight. Frankly nothing measured up. There are two baseball games in play friday night I am dialing into however. I did have a rare baseball triple last friday and it was an easy winner with Kansas City smoking my Cardinals. To date this baseball season I have released only four diamond triples, we have cashed in on three of them. So clearly I am pretty selective with them. As the season progresses those will increase but I do bide my time. It is very important to me that my clients know when I put up a Baseball triple I feel strongly about it. I wish I could find one every day but that is just not happening. Frankly I sat down last night and spent a good deal of time looking into some football. And I have to tell you, it felt good. Real good. Camps will be opening before we know it.
Okay, that is it for today. As always thanks for stopping by. And also as always, I wish each of you the best of luck with your action. Take care guys.
