It's official: The Houston Texans will be featured on HBO's "Hard Knocks" this year with the first episode airing Aug. 11.
Can't wait for these compelling storylines:
A quarterback battle between Ryan Mallett, Brian Hoyer and Tom Savage.
Bill O'Brien doing his best Bill Belichick impersonations.
Arian Foster in the trainer's room with another leg injury.
The NFL couldn't have picked a more boring team, barring a sex tape between J.J. Watt and Caroline Wozniacki.
Most NFL teams shy away from wanting to be on the show. Heaven forbid if an opponent can actually pick up anything useful from watching a free agent safety trying to make the team, or viewing O'Brien cutting a special teams player.
Once in a while something semi-entertaining does happen. Rex Ryan and Chad Johnson - or whatever he is calling himself these days - were great characters. I still chuckle when the Jets were the featured team and Ryan was screaming at his team during a meeting. At the end of his tirade he said something like alright now let's go down and get a snack.
Watt should get a lot of mileage. So should the Texans. This puts them in the public eye for about the first time. They also would be happy to know that the last five teams featured on "Hard Knocks" all improved their record from the previous season.
On the handicapping front, I'm going for my fourth straight baseball winner with a Triple Star totals play. I am 38-23-1 on my last 62 Triple Stars, my highest rated play. My play and packages can be found here: /pregamepros/pro-bettor/bettor.aspx?id=7746#capper.
As always, let's have no bad luck!
