San Francisco fans have a lot to celebrate these days with the Warriors heavy favorites to win the Western Conference Championship Series and the Giants coming on with 11 victories in their last 16 games and now having a healthy Hunter Pence.
But to quote the late, great Al McGuire it's not all seashells and balloons for Bay Area sports fans.
Things continue to get worse for the 49ers. In case you missed it, defensive lineman Justin Smith announced his retirement. This guy was good and somewhat underrated. The 49ers now have lost the equivalent of 10 starters this off-season, including Patrick Willis and Chris Borland.
Willis was in his prime. Borland had a monster rookie season. Smith was still highly effective. To lose all three to retirement is a cruel blow to the 49ers. Oddsmakers have taken notice. The 49ers have the highest division odds of any team in the NFC West, including the Rams.
On the handicapping front, sorry I don't have any Game of the Month offerings. Just solid Double Star plays in the NBA - where I am 30-19-1 on my last 50 plays - and in baseball where I've gone 3-1 the past three days. They can be found here: /pregamepros/pro-bettor/bettor.aspx?id=7746#capper.
As always, no bad luck!
