Some interesting market dynamics set the Cubs up for what is likely some good spots to play them 'over'. My quick summary points on the Cubs
1. It's been a cold Spring in the Windy City, and the wind has often blown in. This has helped to depress the runs in Cubs games, and that is about to change.
STARTING PITCHING
In particular almost every Lester start has been at home, in cold weather with the wind blowing in (not the last one). Despite this, Lester's ERA is still north of 4, but he HAS been pitching better of late.
The other Cubs Starters have benefited from this as well. While I expect Arrieta to be a stud this year, and Hammell could be quite good, Woods and Hendricks look to be possible disasters.
BULLPEN
The Cubs pen ranks in the bottom 3rd of the league, and I think the news just gets worse going forward, when the weather heats up and the wind starts blowing out towards those new Bleachers.
HITTING:
This team can RAKE, and I see their numbers going UP UP UP now that Bryant is in the lineup and starting to hit some home runs. I know they are middle of the pack right now in their stats, but I fully expect the Cubs to do nothing but improve going forward.
Add it all up, and I am not sure if I am that bullish on the Cubs, but I WILL be on select 'overs' when they are playing going forward (likely in non Arrieta games).
The total today vs. Pit has gone up from 9 to 9.5, but if I had to play the game total, that would be the way I would go.......
On the capping front, I was poised to have a big night last night, until the Clippers flamed out on me. We fire in a 2* MLB best bet today along with a solid 2* prop bonus bet on the Cubs game today! I will be adding additional plays during the day.
Good luck to all!
