I have always loved the SB Props. It was clear to me from long ago that the Books were out of their element, and didn't realize how difficult it can be when they are putting up their own numbers (vs. copying a line off the screen).
Two great real life examples of this:
1. The Stardust hung "Who will have more punts? and had TB -2 vs. Oak". This was a game that closed Oak -3, and the punt line went from +2-110 to +2-250. Those that got TB +4 got value. Those that got punts +2 got some incredible value
2. A book in the Pit/Sea SB forgot that an NFL game was 60, not 30 minutes. They asked "When will the 1st TD occur?
0-2 Minutes 4-1
2-4 Minutes 4-1
Etc.......... but finally
28 minutes to end of game : 100-1 !
When Bettis got stuffed on the goal line as the 2 minute warning in the 1st half hit, it made for quite a celebration for many a sharp bettor.........
Now, these types of bets are out there seemingly each and every year, but you have to do a lot of leg work to find them. They aren't going to be releasable as a service, but one who hits all the books will find a few every year. One key point though.....there IS competition, and it is beyond frustrating to see a SB prop sheet and spot one of these gems and then rush to the window to ask for Punts +2 -110, and be told "It's -240". The early bird gets the worm, and being the 1st to bet props is often key here.
I also love to spot 'impossible to happen' props that are almost certain to win. Millenium used to post "Will there be 2 onsides kicks?", and you could bet 10 to make 1, when the true odds had to be more like 2% not 10%.
Good luck to all in your prop betting. My SB package is UP, and I will release my 1st prop pick as soon as available:
