It has been my desire to be a professional sports bettor, and make my living doing so. I have the aspirations and I have the desires to do it, all I need is the information on how to make this happen. Let me start you off with some information about myself.
I am 20 years old and turn 21 in mid-august
I have a 20 hour a week part time job getting paid 9.50
I go to school full time.
My current wagering bank roll is $1,000 and is on BetUs
Some questions I have.
What can I expect out of that size of a bank roll? How unrealistic is it that I can actually turn a decent profit from such a small roll? Should I just save up a ton of money, say $20,000, wait until I turn 21 and try my luck betting in Reno/Tahoe? (I live in Sacramento, ca area) I have been following pre-game for the last two month and because of my short BR I haven’t been able to purchase any picks, but I use the Free-picks on a daily basis. Do I have to turn into RJ or VR to be a pro sports bettor? Or can I be on this side of the website and still feel financial sound? Do I need to live in Vegas/Reno/Tahoe to be a pro bettor? I cant see BetUs supporting such an aggressive look on sports betting. That is al lfor now, hopefully you guys can help, ill be back in the morning to ask more questions!!!!!

Rob, I've been exactly where you are buddy... but you can up that 20 hours per week to 35-40 hours per week. It's really tough to concentrate on academics when you've got a couple hundred bucks on the table. Trust me, i get it... You've got an assignment due the next day, and you've got your computer screen up with the gamecast of your game in one tab, and your word document in another. By the end of the game, you still don't have your name on the paper haha.
First off, unless you're living with your parents, you need that job. So don't quit your day job, and definitely don't quit school. I'm not saying you can't make it as a bettor, Im just saying 99% of people don't, so that degree will be important. If i were you, I'd bet recreationally, and really work on improving your betting over the next couple years, and then after you've got your degree, really hit it full force. Because in the mean time, with a bank roll of a grand, you'll have a hard time turning fast profit without going broke. I'd say at most you should be betting 50 bucks a game.. meaning it'd take one damn good month to make $1000. My point is, even if you were doing really well.. in your first year you're not going to make any more than you could working full time minimum wage.. and you'll probably be putting in more hours betting than you would working full time. If you won year after year after year.. my estimation is that it'd still take about 3-4 years before you could get to a point where you could up your bet size enough to be able to really make a decent living.. and that's assuming you were amazingly good at this and rarely had a losing month over that 4 year stretch, and at the same time, didn't spend your winnings meaninglessly.
What degree are you going for buddy? Are you a business guy?
