Tony's Week 11 Takes and Observations
Week 11 provided a few shocking moments and reminds everyone things are not as they seem week to week in the NFL. It also reminds us Pro Players and teams can me the exact opposite of what they portrayed the week before, which makes handicapping the parity filled NFL as tough as any job in America in terms of days end results.
The most shocking Sunday event was the Bengals going into the Super Dome and carving up New Orleans, and not only knocking off the Saints but dominating them, a day when Andy Dalton looked better than Drew Brees, that that is shocking. The other thing that was made official was that New England after a good Kansas City team lit them up on MNF, has gone on a butt whipping tear and proved to the be the best in the AFC, and oddsmakers foolish enough to give them points against the Colts, I hammered that line, Pats on fire along with Kansas City and Arizona.
Here are my takes from this action.
- The Rams and Jeff Fisher are no easy out for any team, take the points. Wins against San Fran, Seattle and Denver. WOW.
- Green Bay is the strongest home team in the NFL bar none, and that weather scenario does not hurt either.
- Arizona is for real, I have said it for 2 weeks and I will say it again, even without QB Palmer – shut down defense!
- Kansas City is for real – Close losses to San Fran and Denver in the final moments- crushed Patriots and beat Seattle. RB Charles a stud
- San Diego is the team falling the fastest from the top rankings – NO run game, cannot put away anyone. Fade material
- New England is the best team in the AFC, Brady on fire and now RB Gray emerges, kicked the Colts butt as an underdog!
- The Saints will win and division and make the playoffs with a losing record. Bengals way banged up on defense and still beat them up.
- Atlanta in first place in their division – WOW – Breaking News – They won’t win the division.
- Two Best Teams in football – Green Bay and New England – makes for an interesting Super Bowl dream matchup – the total would be 60!
- Denver is human, and although the Rams defense is solid, Manning and company have cracks in the Armor.
- Houston HC O’Brien made a wise decision at on his QB change – JJ Watt for MVP anyone, another TD catch!
- You cannot lay points with Cincy and it is hard to take points with Cincy. They are an enigma wrapped in riddle.
- Jay Gruden at Washington needs to draft a QB in 2015 – RG III not the answer – offense deplorable – fade team.
- Oakland may be down as usual, the do not away easy and are worth a strong look as a big dog in every game.
