Hello gentlemen, It's onto a new week or a wrap if you're stepping into the NFL game tonight. I personally am passing. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I was certainly kicking myself last night. Frankly when I was grading my plays and posting my action I was pretty much torn between the Saints and Packers as my featured release. I just don't hardly ever post more than one triple on any one day as my clients will attest. I chose the Saints as the triple and made the Packers a double. Then of course the Saints went down in overtime and the Packers totally crushed and abused the Bears.
Okay, on this date in history and pretty bizzare thing happend in an NBA game. It was on this date back in 1990 that the Phoenix Suns erupted for a sick 107 points in the FIRST HALF of their game against the Denver Nuggets. Just think about that for a moment. They went on to cruise to a insane 173-143 victory. I can just see the faces of those bettors that night who were playing the under. I understand some teams take the night off on the defensive end on given night but good grief. They must have both just said the hell with it, just chuck it and run.
For a free play tonight I am playing the New Orleans Pelicans catching the points against the Cavaliers. Clearly Cleveland is still very much a work in process. We cashed on the last free play and I suspect we will here as well. This will be the Cavaliers first game on their home floor since laying an egg opening night against New York. Many will feel they will erupt tonight. I'm not convinced. There are trends supporting the Pelicans here but frankly I just don't trust Cleveland yet. I think taking the points here is the right side to be on.
On the business side the college/NBA discounted package offer is winding down. There are a lot of first rate basketball handicappers here to choose from. Last year I can say in college hoops we cashed a very solid 58% of our selections over the course of the season and ended up 48 units to the good. That is over the course of 261 games released. And of course based on the 1-3 star Pregame rating system. On the football side murphys law was in full effect for me this weekend on some plays. The difference between success and losses can be razor thin. I can say I was totally wrong on my Kansas State selection at TCU. It's my view that it is highly likely nobody would have went down there and knocked off the Horned Frogs saturday night. They played a simply great game and beat a very good Wildcats team. It surprised me and I admit it. Even after a tough stretch which had some people melting down and getting hateful the stubborn fact is we are still plus units for football this season. Even after the skid the Triples in football stand at 14-9. I can assure you I am going to work overtime this week in my effort to rebound strongly. I'm an old school handicapper with the work ethic of the amish. I am going to be burning the midnight oil this week to find my clients and I the best opportunity for success.
All righty then. Much work to be done and I assure you I am on it. On one other note. Forum poster Richard Mayfield is a close buddy, has been for over 30 years. If you have not been paying attention to his selections you have been missing out. Richard steers clear of drama and just works hard to provide free winners. He clearly does well with it. Just a heads up to those who might not have noticed. Okay, good luck everybody.
