FSU is losing to Louisville... (:
anyways.. no I don't think 8 teams would be better, I like keeping at 4, and here's why.. In my own opinion I don't care to see 8 teams get in, as long as u get the #1 team with a shot to win it, I'm happy. Honestly if it has to be debated whether you are the fourth most deserving team to make the playoff I don't mind seeing you not get in. I realize a lot of ppl will probably read that and think "WTF?" but like i said that's just my own opinion. 4 teams keeps the regular season wild/crazy, yet does open up opportunity to lose one or maybe even 2 games. Personally I didn't mind the 2 team BCS system, I felt that every year the best team had a shot to play for the title. Another reason I don't like the 8 team playoff is a comparison I would draw to march madness. I absolutely LOVE the march madness tournament, but the one thing that kind of sucks to me is when you have 3 final 4 teams that didn't have that great of seasons, and the teams that played great all year got bounced because of one bad game "when it counts" I wouldn't care to see a #1 seed go 12-0 or 11-1 and lose to some 9-3 #8 seed just because they had a bad game. Keeping it to 4 teams gives the best 2 teams a shot, yet against strong competition.
In terms of does the big 10 or pac 12 deserve a shot... I think it really depends on who wins those conferences and what the rest of the teams in the country do. for example if Ohio state wins the big 10 but K-state wins out... I'd give it to K-state just based on the significantly harder schedule they played. If Oregon wins out and wins the pac-12, I don't think there is much of a question as to whether or not they belong.. \
FSU/ND to me are really what decide a lot, because FSU is guaranteed a spot if they win out, but if they lose that spot could go to a second SEC team, or a big 10 team.. if FSU AND ND lose.. then all hell breaks loose and anybody can get in...
In terms of who I think will get in, who knows? there's so many more games to be played.. I will say that I don't trust ole miss.. the offense just bugs me, I don't like bo wallace/ the run game/ or the receivers not named treadwell...
If oregon beats stanford it's hard to see them having another slip up with their remaining schedule/the pac-12 title game so i think it's pretty likely they get in...
I wouldn't count out baylor just yet.. out of their last 5 games, they only have one true road game. but upcoming they get KU in Waco, go to oklahoma, and then host OKST, have a neutral game against texas tech, and host K-state. They'll likely be favored in at least 4 of those games, so I like their chances to make it, that SOS i imagine would get them in over any big 10 team...
if FSU wins out they'd obviously get a spot, which would leave one last spot for an SEC team...
