No pulse whatsoever, dead on arrival. I was tempted to just type that up, post it and let it go at that. But I gave my word to RJ that I would do this and I am a man of my word. Frankly I have been doing everything but go through the trash cans around the facility to decipher what occured with this team last saturday. The stubborn fact is they were humiliated on a national scale as the Georgia Bulldogs rolled into Columbia and used and abused the tiggers. Hell, I had a double star on Georgia and then when the whole Gurley thing broke I juiced it out. Hindsight is of course immaculate. That inept performance left pretty much everyone involved with the program in a state of shock. One thing I have observed about this team from the spring scrimmage on is they were one of the cockiest groups I've seen, and I've been following Mizzou football since the Dan Devine era. Confidence and swagger can be a beautiul thing but I suspect this group was more hat than cattle. They went into the Georgia game at home supremely confident they were about to take a giant leap toward the division crown. At the end of the afternoon they were embarassed and totally humbled. QB Maty Mauk had all his recievers over to his place saturday night to informally hash things out. Then they showed up early monday morning on their own, (with expetion of Jimmie Hunt) to work on some patterns together. They know things have to get better and the clock is ticking. The sad fact is Mauk has completed a dismal 38% of his passes in conference action. Admittedly he has been victimized by more than a few drops, including some by Hunt who chose to bypass the extra workout. But Mauk tends to get happy feet and he also has a bad habit of staring down recievers. You can get by with that with the patsies but not once SEC action gets underway. Pinkel has a strong history working with QB's, Brad Smith, Chase Daniel, Blaine Gabbert and James Franklin but Mauk is turning into more of a project than he had anticipated. Now this week you can safely say this is a line drawn in the sand game. The loser of the Florida and Missouri game is in for a long remainder of the season. The winner can can back on steady pins and forge ahead. I have stated time and time again I think the weak link on the defensive side of the ball is the Tiger secondary. Once again, they play loose, close slow and tackle poorly. But it's my opinion going up against Driskel and Harris this saturday night that won't be the hinderance it typically is. One other note to mention is senior wide out Daruis White IS expected to see heavy action in Gainesville. It was thought he would be good to go last week but at the last moments they decided to hold him out one more week. I cannot state enough having White back on the field can be huge for Mauk. Darius can get separation better than any other reciever at Maty's disposal.
So what is my bottom line on this thing this week. I see a humbled, embarassed Tigers club taking the field and they can do one of two things. They can rally together to salvage what can still be a very good season or they can melt down if things go sideways early and show they are not ready for prime time. Frankly sometimes you can be too close to the forest to see the tree's but it is my honest and candid opinion Missouri comes to play hard for four quarters saturday night and very well might get the outright. I feel getting the 5.5 to 6 points is gravy. Gary Pinkels teams are a stellar 7-2 straight up in games after a loss since the 2012 season. I AM suggesting to the forum to take Missouri this saturday.
On the business side, I am off the worst weekend of my career at Pregame. I have been attacked and that is to be expected. You bite your tongue and take it and go back to work. It is the hard and difficult times that mark the man, not the easy ones. We started the new week off with a nice college winner last night and we are up now 12.9 units on the season. I have a Triple Star in college loaded for saturday and I also have a game I love in the NFL sunday as a Triple. The NFL Triples have been insane the last couple of years. It is a documented fact that my clients and I have now cashed in on 26 of the last 32 NFL Triples, 81%. NO, it's not a lock. I never deal in that crap. But the Triple Star mark in the NFL is very, very respectable. To be candid the college number on the triple is getting to the point I may pull it soon. I can suggest people bet as soon as I post it but some just won't or for some reason cannot. As of now it is still a valid release. I have pulled packages on several occasions before and will again if I think it is justified. As for the NFL Triple I still like the number just fine. I encourage all of you guys to please make every effort to have more than one out. It pains me to get pm's from my clients stating they cannot get down until the morning of the game. That's just such bullshit to have to contend with that garbage. Okay, enough for now. Thanks and best of luck to everyone. Enjoy the games!
